Oleksii Khlobystin
Mathematics and Physics Specialist
I grew up in Ukraine and have over 10 years of teaching experience working with IGCSE, A-level, AP, and IB materials in an international setting. I worked as a professional dancer in Ukraine, Turkey, China, and Kazakhstan. More recently I worked in China and Ukraine as a Head of Mathematics, Physics, Science, and Dance Teacher. I joined Copperfield in April 2022.

Oleksii's story
Alex is our Head of Mathematics at Copperfield. He also teaches Physics to secondary school students and provides Dance classes. Alex has always been passionate about Mathematics. Since his first win in the local Maths Olympiad, Alex has realized that Maths is something he will never stop exploring. In 2004 he was awarded 3rd place in the All-Ukrainian Academic Olympics in the subject of Mathematics.
Alex has a Bachelor of Science, a PGDE in Engineering, TEFL/TESOL Certificates, a CSML from Harvard Graduate School of Education, a PGDE in Mathematics and Physics, a Bachelor of Dance Education, and a Master of Art in Mathematics Education.
He is also currently enrolled in a Master of Education program majoring in Advanced Teaching. His next learning journey will be with Keele University where he plans to pursue a Master of Art in Education Leadership and Management. Alex is a life-long learner thrilled by the multicultural environment, sport, and dance. In fact, he has won some prestigious international dance competitions and has worked as a professional dancer and choreographer in Turkey, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and China.
Moreover, he has been an avid practitioner of Sports Gymnastics and Street workouts since 2006. Alex’s wife-Kristina is also a teacher and dancer. They have two sons – Yan and Nikita, and always say that family is a priority number one.
Alex believes that good teachers are enthusiastic and capable of conveying their enthusiasm to students who must always be at the center of everything teachers do.
